VSLogonScreenCustomizer

Every time we turn on our computers, we are greeted by the same logon screen, which may have a nice design, but it can get dull over time. Although the image on the logon screen can be changed, Windows does not make it easy. When it comes to customization, it restricts us to changing icons and the desktop wallpaper. With VSLogonScreenCustomizer, it takes only a few clicks to change the picture on the logon screen. You can use any image you want and if you are not satisfied with your changes, you can undo them instantly.

The application is absolutely free, but it provides support only for Windows Vista, Windows 7 and the 2008 Server edition. It is compatible with both 32 and 64-bit operating systems and it can be installed in no time. It uses little disk space and it doesn't have any kind of special requirements.

The user interface displays a preview of your current logon screen, as well as a series of options for manipulating the screen. All you have to do is browse for an image and select it, on a standard Open dialog. Once you choose a picture, the preview will display the logon screen with your selected image. Finally, you may click an Apply button to make your changes.

VSLogonScreenCustomizer provides support for several image formats. Besides JPG images, you can also use pictures in TIFF, PNG, GIF, BMP and WMPhoto format. The software allows you to go to a full screen preview as well. The original logon image can be applied instantly, by clicking the Default button. If you load a new picture more than once, you can use Undo and Redo buttons, to switch between previews, without loading the images a second time.
